Weight training equipment

 

  • Olympic discus: Olympic discs, designed to work with Olympic rods, are circular weights made from durable materials such as cast iron, steel or rubber. They have a standard central diameter of 50 mm.
  • Olympic bar: The Olympic bar is a specialized metal component for weightlifting exercises, with a typical weight of 20 kg and a length of approximately 2.2 meters.
  • Storage: Olympic discs are commonly stored on specific supports or disc trees that have poles to arrange them according to their weight.
  • Other: Tops, also called blocking collars, are used to secure the discs to the Olympic bar, preventing them from slipping or moving during weightlifting practice.

Exercise Description of
Squats Place the disc bar on the back of the body. It performs bending and extension movements of the knees and hips.
Dead weight Lift the bar from the floor to hip level while keeping your back straight.
Banking press Lie on a bench and elevate the bar from your chest until you fully extend your arms.
Clean Jerk Make a combined motion where you lift the bar from the floor to the shoulder and then over the head.
Front Squats Place the bar in front of the shoulders and do squats holding the position.
Military Press Lift the bar from your shoulders to above your head in an upright position.
Barbell Hip Thrusts Put your back on a bench with the bar over your hips and lift your hips up.
Barbell curls Hold the bar in front of your body and perform movements to work your biceps.
Sumo deadlift Lift from the ground with a wider leg posture and the bar between the legs.
